USO Annual Meeting 2010

The USO Annual Meeting was held on Saturday, May 1, 2010. The proposed budget for 2010-2011 passed unanimously. Five USO members received awards at this year's meeting. Leslie Baehre, Karen Cherry, Donna Kendrick (retiree) and Dave Stafford each received the USO Presidential Award. Rick Long received the USO Advocacy Award. These individuals received awards for their outstanding work and dedication to the USO. Congratulations!

National Staff Organization News

The NSO Representative Assembly will be held June 11-12 in San Antonio. Top on the list of business for delegates will be the electing of officers and Region 2, 4 and 6 Directors, go to www.nationalstaff.org to read more about the RA.

NSO 40th anniversary celebration celebrates advocacy heritage

This year's RA will do more than just take care of business. It will be a chance for NSO members to celebrate the organization’s 40th Anniversary in style.  Plans are being finalized for the June 11 event at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the Riverwalk.

The celebration will begin with a reception and dinner. The program will honor the events and people who made NSO a strong organization built on the principles of leadership and advocacy for its members. Region 2 Director Butch Santicola and Ginny Ross, former NSO Vice President for Program, will chronicle the history of NSO with a program and slide show.

During the evening, attendees will have the chance to purchase raffle tickets for the NSO 40th. Anniversary quilt featuring state affiliates and for other prizes donated by individual state affiliates.

Each State contributed a quilt square and Michigan's own Doreen Trevena did a beautiful job putting it all together. Great Job Doreen!
